Invisible Things

On allowing yourself to be truly seen.

To truly not know
what it means
to allow yourself
to be truly seen,
find the truest parts of you
and refuse to share them with the world, relentlessly,
today.

Being invisible
is about refusing
to be seen.

Being invisible
is about refusing
to answer the call
you were chosen for.

Being invisible
is about deciding
your true self is one
no one needs to hear.

Being invisible
is about turning inwards
and choosing not to share
your truest gifts with the world.

Being invisible
is a protest
of your imperfection,
and a solitary celebration
of your perfection.

To truly know
what it means
to allow yourself
to be truly seen,
find the truest parts of you
and give them away unjustifiably in the world, imperfectly,
today.
